When a shopping mall is taken over by a gang of organized crooks, it's up to a mild-mannered security guard to save the day. Aspiring police officer Paul Blart is a single father who lives in New Jersey with his mother Margaret and his teenage daughter Maya. Even though Paul is a dedicated police cadet, unfortunately, his medical condition prevents him from passing the exams, so in order to be close to his dream, he joins the staff of the West Orange Pavilion Mall as a security guard. Enthusiastic and overzealous, Paul patrols the Mall's premises always willing to help, keeping things in order while riding his motorised electric vehicle. Unexpectedly, the opening of a new kiosk will bring Paul close to Amy, a beautiful, young seller who will eventually steal the guard's heart. When on a Black Friday, a bank heist inside the Mall threatens the life of Paul's beloved Amy, as well as the lives of other hostages, for once, he will have to put into action his police training, overlook his weaknesses and defend effectively his Mall. Will Paul save the day and finally get the girl? A rotund hypoglycemic mall cop who eats too many donuts dreams of being a real cop, but has been frustrated in his efforts. He rides around on one of those electric scooter things, and gets beaten up by weird lady customers. One day fate puts him alone against a violent group of thieves.

The action is sometimes fun, but unbelievable. The set-up sequence is awkward. It's too depressing, especially when Blart humiliates himself at an employee get-together, and injures himself in a stupid accident while on duty. It's a conventional underdog trying to make good story, and Blart seems like a nice enough guy to root for. Kevin James is good enough in the lead (he also co-wrote), but some supporting actors are weak. The bad guys, the pen salesman, the daughter, the bully-turned cop guy, the girl-friend; all overdone at times. Some of them are annoying. The ending throws in a bunch of unnecessary twists that mean nothing.

Still, this is just shooting for low-brow slapstick, and is OK on that basis. But turn off your brain before watching. I wasn't sure of the plot of this film but I was reasonably sure that it would be "luckless fat guy gets girl and does good in the end". What it turned out to be was actually just that but with the main thread being a spoof of Die Hard set in a mall. Sadly what it doesn't turn out to be is funny or anywhere near as imaginative as it needs to be. The comedy is mostly around the fact that Blart is a big fat guy who falls down (a lot) while the robbery thread is incredibly unconvincing excuse to get free-running style antics into play. It goes along amiably enough for 90 minutes though (a time that always seems like something has targeted it rather than the film working best at that length) and it offers very little to offend, as if it is specifically just trying to attract as many people who are looking for easy distraction – which of course it is.

It doesn't do even this for my money though, mainly because it provided me with essentially one chuckle (when Blart goes Ben Hurr with a cuddly toy) and no other laughs to speak of. I wanted it to be much more imaginative in how silly it was, to really play for it (particularly given that I love Die Hard and would be happy to see it referenced) but instead it plays it as if we are meant to take the action even semi-seriously – which of course the majority of viewers will not be able to. It is a shame because James is a big asset to the film and he is actually a lot more able in terms of physical comedy than I thought. He doesn't work when he becomes tougher but as a "loveable fat guy" he is actually very good. Unfortunately he doesn't get enough opportunities to show this because of the material. The supporting cast suffer more. O'Donnell, Mays, Gerety and others all do the basics – the only one that stuck in my mind was the awesomely sexy Natascha Hopkins, although she is out of the way far too early.

Overall Paul Blart does just what you expect it to do – which is essentially nothing. It lacks imagination, wit and laughs, leaving an action plot that doesn't work and doesn't provide as much laughs as it should. James' spirited performance and prat falls prevent it being totally without merit but one cannot help feel that he deserves better than this. Great comics from Jerry Lewis to Peter Sellers have turned pathetic into comedic. But James never seems to able to get beyond pathetic. Paul Blart: Mall Cop is based on a screenplay by Kevin James, who plays the title character, and by writer and voice actor Nick Bakay. …on the ring tone for Paul's borrowed phone: My bubble Gum by Rasheeda

…the first karaoke song: Runaway by Bon Jovi

…when Paul is leaving the house for work: Mr Blue Sky by Electric Light Orchestra

…in the trailer: Livin' on a Prayer by Bon Jovi

…in the bar: Runaway by Bon Jovi

…when he walks over to Amy at the end: I Can't Hold Back by Survivor

…when he starts singing in the video games: Detroit Rock City by Kiss Yes. An extra scene depicting Blart's wedding is shown about 20 seconds into the credits, but there's nothing after the credits. The extra scene is not worth sticking around for. a5c7b9f00b King of the South full movie hd 1080p downloadCop Out in hindi download free in torrentChura Liyaa Hai Tumne telugu full movie downloadDanMachi: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon full movie hd 1080p download kickass movieThe January Man downloadMine download movie freethe Mortal Kombat: Legacy full movie in hindi free downloadFace Off hd mp4 downloadhindi Hot Pepperdownload full movie Driving Spirit in hindi
